Tips for Surviving Deployment

Hello Everyone,

As some of you may know, I am a military wife.  I met my husband about 6 years ago and I never would have thought I would ever end up marrying a Marine.  Drew (my husband) has been gone on and off for about the past three years.  I am here today to fill you in on a few tips on surviving deployment or times away from your loved ones.

  1. Set a countdown for Homecoming : Setting a countdown on my phone has helped me so much.  It also makes you look forward to the next day being one day closer to seeing them!  I used the apps Doing Time and Countdown and loved them both! I also took pictures each month Drew was gone! I will attach a few below! IMG_6404IMG_5828FullSizeRender (2)IMG_4687IMG_5017
  2.  Support System: I am so thankful and blessed to have the friends and family that I do.  Honestly, I couldn’t imagine what life would be like without them! Finding a great support system is so important in this time!
  3.  Keep Busy! : This tip is so important! I work full time and in my spare time I try to keep as busy as possible! Another reason why I started my blog! It keeps your mind off of negative thoughts and helps you get through another day! Working out is also another great stress reliever and helps you feel good about yourself too!
  4. Be a Cheerleader: Sending care packages is one of my favorite things about deployment.  I love supporting my husband and showing him how much I appreciate his hardwork!

Feel free to email me any questions you have! I hope you are all having a great week!
