Hi everyone! I recently traveled to Eugene to visit my sister-in-law, who goes to the University of Oregon. This trip was one of my favorites to date. There is so much to do and everywhere you turn has incredible views. From ocean to snowy mountains it really was breathtaking. Below I am sharing my favorite activities and the best place to stay!

Where to stay

We stayed at Hyatt Place Eugene and it was exceptional. The rooms were modern, comfortable and very clean. The staff was very friendly and our favorite part about the hotel was their Sky Bar. It had beautiful outdoor fire pits, plenty of seating and offered a great view of Eugene.  It was also really cool that we could see the stadium at the University of Oregon from our hotel room too. This hotel looked very upscale and I felt very comfortable throughout my entire stay. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if your have plans to visit Eugene.

Bonus: The Hyatt is located within a shopping center as well as great dinning options. They has stores including Lululemon, J.Crew, Nordstrom Rack and more.

Where to Eat & Drink

Breakfast: Voodoo Donuts is a must especially if you want a Instagram picture. Their donuts are so unique and tasty too. Plus, they are very affordable.

Lunch: Elk Brewery– This was a stop on my husbands list and it did not disappoint. He ordered the Bison burger and raved about it as well as their craft beers.

Dinner: Oregon Electric Station was my ABSOLUTE favorite dinner we had the entire trip. If you plan to eat here be sure to call ahead and request a trolly experience. You sit on an actual train cart and it feels like you’re on the Polar Express. Plus, the food was phenomenal.

Dinner: Ambrosia: If you’re looking for authentic Italian this place was awesome and had wonderful service. The salads were some of the best I’ve had as well as their pizza. Also, the atmosphere is great for a date night.

Drinks: Sweet Cheeks Winery- Wow! This is a must because the views are incredible and the venue is beautiful. They had a large wine selection and even had craft beers if you’re traveling with a significant other who does not like wine. Also, there cheese plates were great.

What To Do:

Visit Florence and Heceta Lighthouse Beach. This little beach town was so cute and the clam chowder is fantastic. My favorite part about this trip to Florence was the beach. To get there you have to drive along the coast and oversee steep cliffs, which was a little scary. However, its well worth it! The light house, bridge and huge rocks in the water were stunning.

Go to a University of Oregon game at Autzen Stadium. I personally have only been to a football game but it was so much fun! The atmosphere is very laid back compared to games on the East Coast. I would definitely recommend seeing one while you’re there, if it’s in the fall.

Mt. Hood! When I took pictures here I had comments saying that it was a backdrop because of how insanely beautiful it really is. This my MUST-SEE if you make this trip. The view is breathtaking and unlike anything I have ever seen.

Multnomah Falls is another one you can not afford to miss. I personally had never seen a waterfall before and it was amazing. It offers a bridge you can walk across for incredible pictures too.

This would be such a great trip for kids, a couples trip or even with girlfriends. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve ever been to Eugene or if you have any questions!

XOXO,
